Veronica Kirk Obtains Decisive Defense Verdict for National Big-Box Retailer in Polk County

MWH Law Group congratulates firm partner Veronica Kirk and her team for obtaining a decisive defense verdict for a national, big-box retailer in a jury trial held recently in Polk County district court.

In their premises liability claim, the Plaintiffs alleged that their injuries resulted from a fall due to the store’s negligence in owning and maintaining a pedestrian gate meant to protect the store from theft. Before trial, defense counsel was able to secure an order limiting potential damages to $75,000.

Plaintiffs requested a verdict of $75,000 from the jury. The jury disagreed, however, determining that our client was not negligent in any way.
