I love being able to investigate and uncover not just facts but motivating interests from employees to best serve my employer clients in finding workable solutions.

Mercy’s desire to obtain an excellent result for her clients is rooted in her ardent belief that there is always a second side to the story, which may provide an argument for defending the party’s .

Mercy started her legal career as a public defender in Racine, where she gained a great deal of experience reviewing police and accident reports, police body camera footage, medical records, text messages, and videos. She successfully defended clients in jury trials and hearings involving criminal misdemeanors, involuntary mental health commitments, and guardianships. These successes cemented her desire to litigate the defense position, whether that be in criminal matters, premises liability cases, or in the employment and general civil litigation arenas.

Drawing from her experience in an ombudsman office, Mercy understands the complexities of a modern workforce. She has found her alternative dispute resolution skills translate well to investigating and working through employment discrimination allegations. She notes, “I love being able to investigate and uncover not just facts but motivating interests from employees to best serve my employer clients in finding workable solutions. I am motivated by taking what seems to initially be a behemoth and overwhelming amount of information and crafting it into a sensible narrative.”

She joined MWH in 2022, where she now supports employment, litigation, and data privacy and security clients. Mercy developed a passion for data security and privacy law while in law school and obtained her CIPP/E in October 2021. She plans to secure IAPP CIPP/US certification next and intends to work with her clients as they endeavor to protect their assets, employees, and companies against malicious attacks. For Mercy, the ever-changing regulatory landscape of data privacy is simultaneously exhilarating and daunting. She relishes the constant learning opportunities and the challenge of providing clients with practical, actionable solutions.
