After practicing in Illinois and the Quad Cities, when the opportunity came to move back to my hometown, I knew it was the right decision.
Megan works diligently on client matters while maintaining a practical and reasonable approach to each client’s problems.
Count on Megan for practical and reasonable counsel on employment-related issues. What else would you expect from a true Midwesterner?
Megan grew up in Norwalk, a suburb of Des Moines. As an undergrad at the University of Iowa, Megan worked in risk management for a local small business and particularly enjoyed the employment-related aspects of the experience. While in law school at Drake, she clerked for a prominent local plaintiff’s employment firm and federal judge. After law school, Megan worked in a variety of small firm settings, practicing family law, estate planning and probate law, and real estate/transactional law. These experiences helped her become a more well-rounded and empathetic attorney but confirmed her preference for employment law.
After practicing in Illinois and the Quad Cities, when the opportunity came to move back to her hometown and join MWH, she knew it was the right decision.
Megan brings her experience and Midwestern work ethic and practicality to each matter for her clients. They regularly rely on her for advice on everything from the ADA and FMLA to anti-discrimination and wrongful termination issues.
Most recently, a client asked Megan to review the enforceability of an employee non-compete agreement. Although faced with a tight turnaround and an unfamiliar jurisdiction, she was able to focus on the issues identified by the client and flag potentially problematic or favorable aspects of the agreement. The client was impressed with the thoroughness and quality of the work.
