BIOGRAPHY

I am an experienced transactional attorney who combines knowledge and business acumen to provide sound and practical advice to my clients. I possess over 20 years of advising clients in the public finance space as well as on real estate matters.

In my public finance practice, I have served as bond, issuer’s, disclosure, and underwriters’ counsel on bond financings for public and private educational institutions, hospital and healthcare facilities, finance authorities, and state and local governmental entities. This experience includes drafting, reviewing, negotiating and preparing for final execution numerous documents related to tax exempt and taxable bond issuances. I advise my clients on optimal tax structures and assist with applicable tax laws and compliance matters.

My real estate experience focuses on the drafting and negotiating of contracts which can include sale, acquisition, finance, development and/or leasing of residential and commercial properties. I prepare and review title documents, deeds, and transfer documents. I assist and advise buyers and sellers alike in connection with their real estate needs.

As a former employee of the State of Indiana Department of Commerce, I was responsible for the attraction of new industry to the State as well as the creation of new employment opportunities for its citizens. It is with this background and knowledge that I am now able to navigate my clients through various governmental entities including the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program and the US Small Business Administration as well as nationally recognized certifying agencies to assist in obtaining certifications to establishing companies as minority-owned, woman-owned, small business owned, veteran-owned or disadvantaged business enterprise. I assist small and medium-sized businesses in drafting corporate structure documents. Additionally, I provide pro-bono legal services to the Indianapolis chapter of the American Veterans (AMVETS).

Immediately prior to joining MWH Law Group, I was a partner for seven years at one of the largest minority-owned law firms in the country where I practiced in the transactional division, specializing in municipal finance law. Previous to that, I practiced in the Government & Regulatory Services and Business Services groups at Locke Reynolds in Indianapolis.
