BIOGRAPHY

Jennifer Pflug Murphy concentrates her practice in the areas of public finance, commercial lending, real estate and corporate transactions. Ms. Murphy has served as bond, underwriter’s, bank, disclosure and borrower’s counsel in hundreds of various tax-exempt and taxable bond financings for over 20 years. Her experience includes serving as counsel in general obligation and revenue bond financings involving governmental, transportation, education, utilities, housing, qualified hospital and health facilities, airports, public facilities, and non-profits, among others.

Ms. Murphy regularly serves as bond counsel or underwriter’s counsel in general obligation and revenue bond financings for the State of Wisconsin, Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee, Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority, Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District, Wisconsin Health and Educational Facilities Authority, City of Milwaukee, and other public entities. Ms. Murphy has extensive experience serving as underwriter’s counsel on numerous transactions with issuers in various states including Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, New York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Wisconsin, among others.

She has extensive experience in real estate transactions, including the sale, acquisition, finance, condemnation, development, and leasing of real property. She represents sellers, buyers, lenders, landlords, and tenants. Ms. Murphy provides advice and counsel to private and public entities on major development/construction projects, including property acquisition,
condemnation, environmental, drafting and negotiating construction contracts, MBE/WBE Initiatives, zoning, special use permits, and other governmental approvals.

In corporate transactions, Ms. Murphy provides advice and counsel to lenders and borrowers in major secured and unsecured transactions, and to private for-profit and non-profit entities in a broad range of transactional matters including all facets of commercial contract preparation and negotiation such as drafting and negotiating a wide variety of agreements and contracts including, but not limited to, services, professional services, vendor, supplies, capital equipment, non-disclosure, license, marketing, sponsorship, events, consulting, advertising, and finance. Ms. Murphy represents major manufacturers and Fortune 500 Companies, including advising in-house legal counsel and business stakeholders on all aspects of commercial matters, developing contract management, structure, delegation and implementation process, creation of template and form agreements, on-going strategy and analysis for continuous improvement, evaluating business and legal risks and overall risk management, and commercial support.
