MICHAEL B. MILSOM

I have practiced corporate law for 40 years. I have deep experience working as a legal advisor to senior management teams, having served as the General Counsel or other senior in-house counsel for American Cablesystems, American Radio Systems Corporation, Verestar, Inc., and American Tower Corporation. All of these companies were startups with rapid, high-volume acquisition strategies, and while there, I was largely the sole in-house lawyer managing their numerous stock and asset transactions. In supporting these companies, I also participated in successful IPOs, numerous debt financings, and in the case of American Cablesystems and American Radio Systems Corporation, the sale of the companies on highly beneficial terms. My experience in these roles and subsequently as outside counsel to numerous technology and telecom firms encompasses corporate governance and internal policy compliance, commercial contract drafting and negotiation including software and other intellectual property licensing and SaaS agreements, use of open source software, FCC regulatory and other telecommunications and media issues, online terms including End User License Agreements and Terms of Use, and digital media activities including social media and compliance with FTC regulations. My broad in-house experience has afforded me a keen understanding of business needs and goals, and how legal support can best be delivered to achieve them.

Outside of my position with American Tower, I have represented companies in a wide range of industries, including software service providers in accounting fraud detection, code development training, Internet of Things (IoT), health insurance account analysis, telecommunications firms in broadcast radio, satellite transponder bandwidth, broadband, internet, wireless, wireline, and fiber optic infrastructure. Other sectors I’ve been involved with include supply chain logistics, trade show rental equipment, and broadcast voiceover services.

Based out of Massachusetts, I joined MWH Law Group LLP as Special Counsel in May of 2019 and am practicing technology law, corporate law, intellectual property, and contract support.
