JASON S. MARIN

I am an intellectual property attorney with extensive experience in prosecution, portfolio management, and complex litigation. I have been practicing in the fields of trademarks, copyright, patents, trade secrets, and domain name disputes since 1999. During the course of my practice, I have prepared, prosecuted, monitored, enforced, and defended trademarks, copyrights, and patents in a wide range of industries. My clients operate in fields that include software design, pharmaceuticals, biotech, medical devices, computer hardware, computer technology, food, apparel, media, hedge funds, transportation, convention services, and more.

My experience includes litigation of trademark, counterfeiting, trade secrets, patent and IP related matters in U.S. District Courts, before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and before the International Trade Commission, as well as before ICANN for domain name disputes. I perform IP due diligence, counseling, and risk analysis for a variety of transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, licenses, transfers, divestures, and financing of IP intensive companies.

I am experienced in negotiating and drafting intellectual property related agreements, including financing, licensing, assignment, transfer of rights, software development and linking, service, and acquisition agreements. I also regularly prepare freedom to operate, infringement, due diligence, and patent ability opinions.
