Luke works with his clients and other attorneys in resolving legal issues with a professional attitude toward all involved in the matter.

A new case is always exciting for Luke because the possibilities are nearly limitless. His challenge is to envision the many ways it could go wrong and to plan for all the ways he wants it to go right.

Early in his practice, Luke was fortunate to have several mentors in Iowa whose professionalism and level of care for clients shaped his civil litigation. Luke employs that same level of professionalism in his work today, nearly 10 years later. Additionally, his practice has been influenced by experienced clients, including claims adjusters and corporate representatives, who have challenged him into thinking about a case from another view or dig further into nuanced legal issues not readily evident on the surface.

As a civil litigator, Luke has defended numerous personal injury cases for privately held and Fortune 100® insurance companies, handling them from initial pleadings to discovery and resolution, including dispositive motions and summary judgment. He has participated in several mediations and has served as the lead attorney in two jury trials and more than a dozen bench trials.

In his real estate practice, Luke has drafted purchase agreements, deeds, leases and ancillary documents related to commercial, residential, and agricultural real estate in Iowa. He has successfully handled partition actions involving the breakdown of ownership interests in real estate as well as multiple closings of residential real estate transactions and assisted both landlords and tenants with commercial and residential leases.
