BIOGRAPHY

Patrice B. Borders is experienced in developing innovative human resource strategies, combining her employment law and human capital consulting practices. For over 20 years, she has focused on counseling individuals and organizations on developing high performers, collaborative teams, and inclusive workplace cultures. She has conducted internal investigations, delivered keynotes, and developed and facilitated group and one-on-one anti-harassment trainings. Borders has consulted public, private, and non-profit entities ranging from school districts, hospitals, and Fortune 100s.

Prior to developing a proactive consulting, coaching, and training practice, Borders practiced in the employment law departments of two large nationally-recognized management law firms.  She provided legal consultation to employers on issues of wrongful termination, sexual harassment, racial discrimination, affirmative action, and equal employment opportunity compliance.

Borders served as a senior consultant with the nation’s largest diversity and inclusion training and consulting firm, where she created a workplace protocol suite of customizable training and coaching experiences. She helped organizations and affinity groups develop and implement compliant business strategies for a diverse workforce also an inclusive workplace. This required partnering with organizations to develop diverse talent pipelines and work
cultures supported by behaviors and policies that value and respect differences. Her focus, through education, coaching, and training, has increased individual and organizational awareness that diversity is in the mix; inclusion is getting the mix to work well together.

As a speaker, facilitator, and coach, her high-impact message empowers people to be accountable for their actions and to make necessary and desired changes.  She translates the value of human capital and the currency of relationships into implementable strategies, accountability, and return on expectations.  She has coached corporate, law firm, and non-profit leaders utilizing the concepts of emotional intelligence as a performance skill.

Borders is certified in Emotional Intelligence EQi-2.0 and EQ 360, the Hermann Brain Dominance Instrument® and as a professional and executive coach.  She is the Chair of the Ohio Chapter of The Society of Emotional Intelligence and serves on the Board of The Girl Scouts of Western Ohio.
